What do I need to ensure that I am all set up for the Feminine Power LIVE! VIDEO Events hosted on Zoom?

A computer or laptop with a camera device and an Internet connection

• Your meeting access information
• A headset or earbuds (optional but recommended)
• A smartphone if you’re unable to receive video via your computer, laptop, or device

QUICK Checklist for a ZOOM:

1. Download / Connect to Zoom: Download the Zoom Software here (or connect to the event, if already downloaded)

   TIP: Make sure you have a strong internet connection. We suggest closing other programs to ensure you have adequate bandwidth.

2. Zoom Test Room: You can test your connection to Zoom prior to the scheduled time by visiting the Zoom Test Room Here.

How do I raise my hand on Zoom?

To raise your hand, click on the “Participant” icon in the center bottom of your screen. A pop up screen will open. In the bottom left corner will be the option “Raise Your Hand.” Click on that icon and wait for the teacher or the audio engineer to call your name and unmute your microphone. Please note that the locations of these icons may appear in slightly different locations depending on your device.



How do I start or stop my video from being broadcasted on Zoom?

If at any point you don’t wish to be visible in the Zoom room, click the Video icon to either STOP or START your camera. You will still be able to hear the audio portion of the event when choosing STOP, but the other participants won’t be able to see you.



How do I change the video layout on Zoom?

There are two view options available with Zoom: Gallery View or Speaker View.

1. Gallery View allows you to see one large view with multiple smaller screens of participants.

2. Speaker View allows you to see the person speaking as a larger image and rotates with whoever has the floor.

You can choose either Gallery or Speaker View by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner of your screen.



Breakout Rooms

Important Note! You must have version 5.3.0 or higher of Zoom on your desktop or mobile device in order to self-select your breakout room.

To Join a Breakout Room:

1. When Breakout Rooms are activated you’ll see the option to select the room you’d like to join. Select ‘Join’.

   

2. Zoom will then show you that you are joining the correct room:

   

3. You can choose to leave the Breakout Room at any time and return to the main Zoom event.
