Chapter 7

Our greatest fear is that we will leave this world with our “song” still inside us.

I want to share the story of my student Jada, who was incredibly stuck getting to the next level of her impact and success.

Jada was in her late 40s and had worked in the same H.R. job for 20 years.

She had moments in her job where she connected with her gifts and had glimpses of the much greater impact she could have if only she was given the right opportunity.

But years went by and the opportunity never came.

She felt trapped in the day job she was dependant on to pay her bills, and had tried everything to figure out what to do next…

She hired career counselors, she took the strengths-finder test, she listed all her passions, but still couldn’t find her “next step.”

The worst part was that she started to doubt herself and question whether she had anything valuable to offer others.

That’s when she got an email in her inbox forwarded to her by a friend to attend my Unlock Your Feminine Power Seminar.

She then practiced an exercise I’m going to share about during the seminar called “Activating the Magnetic Power of Desires.”

For the first time in a decade, Jada felt she was able to shift out of her head and connect with and really FEEL her deepest yearnings.

Through the directions in the exercise, she allowed herself to feel the depth of her calling to contribute her life experience and her skills to deeply help other women.

She felt the truth of her own value and contribution.

With my coaching, she didn’t try to go into “strategy” and “figure out” how to “make it happen,” she just stayed with the Feminine Power practice of letting every cell feel the desire she had to give and serve in this way.

When we FEEL our desires in this way, it activates our power to create them.

The next morning, she woke up with an overwhelming intuition to reach out to a colleague who she’d met about a year earlier at a conference and never followed up with.

The funny thing was that she’d had this same feeling before, right after the conference, but dismissed it.

The two reconnected and went out for lunch, and Jada found out that her friend had left her corporate job to become a women’s leadership coach.

Now, the thought hadn’t even occurred to Jada that she could start her own business, because she didn’t really see herself as an entrepreneur or a salesperson—but this meeting opened up possibility for her…

And she realized that she couldn’t see where she fit because her perfect job didn’t yet exist.

The opportunity she needed to become herself fully wasn’t going to be just given to her by someone else; her destiny was something she had to create.

And so for the first time ever, she allowed herself to step into that possibility and listen to her inner voice.

She sensed that as a next step she should offer a workshop for women in her network on navigating transitions, because this had been one of her gifts throughout her career.

She got such powerful feedback from the workshop that she realized she could create a career out of this kind of offer!

She now works with executive women who are navigating transitions, and feels so profoundly self-expressed and more deeply on-purpose than ever.

And the best part was that through this alignment to her highest destiny, the other things she wanted to create in her life began to fall into place, as well.

That’s what’s possible when you Unlock Your Feminine Power.

I’ve found there are three core blocks to accessing your own Inner GPS to navigate your way to your destiny:

• You’re disconnected from your inner knowing.
• You’re having intuitions about what you need to do, but you’re afraid to face the things your inner knowing is telling you, for fear of loss and change.
• You don’t yet have the courage and confidence to take the risk to act on what you know, as you don’t truly believe in yourself or that life supports you.

And here’s what I know for sure:

Unless you form a strong and unshakable connection to this deeper knowing, and believe in yourself, and Life, it’s impossible to step forward and create the things you most desire… let alone become WHO you were meant to be.

Don’t leave this world with your song still inside you!

It’s time to step out of the shadows and into the light.

I also want to share the story of my student Pamela who was incredibly stuck getting to the next level of her impact and success, as I know what a huge challenge this is for so many gifted women.

Pamela was a psychotherapist in her 50s and in the process of launching herself as a life coach.

She felt a deep calling to make a bigger contribution, but she lived in a small town where the people she was targeting as clients couldn’t really afford to pay her fees.

Pamela has a big heart and knew she could really change lives, so she would often charge clients on a sliding scale.

Sometimes she would even take clients for free.

Before she listened to my Unlock Your Feminine Power Seminar, she was stuck in this place of under-earning and over-giving.

This is where she reached her bottom: in the entire launch, she only got one new client!

And the worst part was… the client asked if Pamela could possibly work on a sliding scale!

She hit bottom.

She was coachable.

She was ready to have a breakthrough.

She cried tears of relief as she was finally able to see the one shift she needed to make to get unstuck.

Six months later, Pamela had a thriving practice serving women she felt she was born to work with.

Within 12 months, she broke through the six-figure barrier!
